News Release of the Press Conference of the First China-ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair
December 21st, 2011, Bangkok


Our friends from the media, ladies and gentlemen,Good afternoon! Welcome to today's press conference.

The first China-ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair (referred to as CACF) was originally scheduled to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani Exhibition and Convention Center in Thailand Bangkok from November 8-11, 2011. Affected by flooding, it was postponed to January 6-9, 2012 on the suggestion of relevant departments. Now all preparations have been basically completed and we would like to briefly introduce the preparation work of this CACF.

The First CACF is co-hosted by China Foreign Trade Centre and China National Automotive Industry International Corp., and co-organized by China foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corp., China National Automotive Industry International Corp., and Foshan Ceramics Industry Association. The exhibition will cover a floor space of 7000 sqm with nearly 300 standard booths and 149 exhibiting companies mainly from Guangdong, Chongqing, Zhejing, Fujian and some other provinces and cities of China. This CACF will focus on displaying two major products——Machinery & Electronics and Building Materials, which includes agricultural machinery, engineering machinery, auto parts, engines and pumps, building ceramics, sanitary ware, electronics, household appliance, and lighting fitting etc.

Compared to other Chinese trade shows previously held in Thailand, this CACF highlights the following 4 characteristics:

1. With elaborate guidance and great support from the government departments of both China and Thailand, the exhibition can well satisfy the market needs.

The convening of the first CACF has gained elaborate guidance and great support from relevant organizations, including the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Thailand SME Promotion Agency, Datai International Group, and Shengfa International Trade Co., Ltd. On the day of opening ceremony, senior leaders of related organizations will attend the opening ceremony and visit the show.

As Thailand's economy develops and local consumption grows, machinery & electronics products and building materials present huge market potential in Thailand and its neighboring countries and regions. According to Thailand customs statistics, electrical equipment and parts, mechanical equipment and parts, integrated circuits, and building materials gradually develop into the important commodities that Thailand imports from China in recent years. Located in the heart center of 10 ASEAN countries, Thailand is the hub of economy, finance and aviation in Asian areas which exerts strong radiation effect on its neighboring countries. CACF is held responsive to market needs. It creates an ideal commercial platform that encourages trade negotiation, technology exchange and information exchange within ASEAN. Recently Thailand faced an extremely severe flood and is now under after-flood reconstruction. We believe Thailand people will eventually overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes. At the same time, we sincerely hope the machinery & electronics products and building materials displayed in CACF will help Thailand people rebuild their homes.

2. The hosts and organizers have strong capacity and rich experience in organizing shows.

China Foreign Trade Centre, as one of the hosts of CACF, is a government institution directly under the Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China, which is responsible for organizing China Import and Export Commodities Fair, known as the No.1 show in China. Meanwhile, it owns and operates the modern Canton Fair Complex, whose area is the biggest in Asia and ranks the fourth in the world. The organizer of CACF-- China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corp is subordinated to China Foreign Trade Centre. With rich experience in holding various exhibitions, it is one of the most powerful, influential and specialized exhibition companies in China. In 2011, it held and organized 13 domestic exhibitions and participated in 58 overseas exhibitions, with total exhibiting area reaching over 1.41 million square meters.

The other host China National Automotive Industry International Corp is a wholly owned company by China National Automotive Industry International Corp (referred to as CNAICO). After 5 years' development, international exhibitions as its core business has realized overall improvement and is now becoming into an important force for the stable and sustainable development of the company. Currently, its annual exhibiting area exceeds 2 million square meters, including over 40 exhibitions with independently developed brands. Among them, four are overseas exhibitions independently operated by CNAICO. All of these win the reputation of "an exhibition company with most independently developed brands, broadest market areas, mightiest comprehensive strength, largest scale and widest influence within China and even Asia" for the company.

3. Professionalism is a prominent feature of the show. Exhibitors are all outstanding enterprises in the industries of the exhibits displayed.

Professionalism is a prominent feature for this CACF. The show will focus on displaying two major products——machinery & electronics products and building materials products. Machinery exhibit gathers excellent exhibiting companies from Canton Fair who can offer high-quality products and satisfactory services, which involve some well-known electromechanical enterprises such as Yto Group Corporation, Shifeng Group, Kaijieli Group Co.,Ltd., Fujian Yonglong Electrical Machinery (Group) Co.,Ltd., Sumec Machinery & Electrical Co.,Ltd., Ningbo Ruyi Joint Stock Co.,Ltd., A.O. Smith(China) Water Heater Co.,Ltd., Chongqing Wuzhoulong New Energy Automobile Co.,Ltd, etc. Most of the pump exhibitors come from Wenling city of Zhejiang province, which is known as “home of China’s pumps”. While motor exhibitors are from Fu’an city of Fujian province known as “the county’s export base of small and medium sized motors” and “the city of small and medium sized motors”.

Exhibitors of building materials mainly come from the famous ceramics production base——Foshan of Guangdong province. Foshan district is China’s biggest and most important ceramics production base, enjoying the reputation of “ceramics capital of south China”. Foshan ceramics are wearable, with its brick polishing techniques reaching the world’s top level. In addition to its good quality and vast variety of styles, innovation is also the strength of Foshan ceramics. New products are seen flooding the market from time to time. China’s famous ceramics companies like Guangdong New Pearl Ceramics Group Co., Ltd., New Zhongyuan Ceramics Imp.& Exp. Co., Ltd., of Guangdong, Foshan Monalisa Industry Co., Ltd., Guangdong Dongpeng Ceramic Co., Ltd., Foshan Oceano Ceramics Co.,Ltd., Foshan Hongshuang Decoration Materials FTY Co., Ltd., are going to reveal their new products and techniques on this upcoming CACF.

4. Overall and multi-channel marketing strategy for visitor promotion.

In order to achieve a better trading effect, the hosts and organizers of CACF established an overall and multi-channel marketing strategy for visitor promotion. To effectively invite professional buyers to the show, CACF committee mainly adopted a point-to-point marketing strategy which searches target buyers according to exhibitors’ types, and supplemented by wide publicity. Firstly, CACF committee hired professional organizations including IMPACT Exhibition Management Company Limited, Global Sources, and Biztrade shows to carry out point-to-point visitor promotion targeting at global buyers who are interested in electromechanical and building material products. Secondly, the committee collaborated with a couple of chambers of commerce in Thailand as well as other Asian areas, and shared their member resources and marketing channels to enhance the promotion of CACF. Thirdly, mass media such as broadcast, radio, newspaper, outdoor advertisement, posts are applied in our visitor promotion in Asian areas.

Through our continuous efforts and great support from our media friends, we expect the first CACF will attract a large number of professional and high-quality buyers and traders to the show.
